This week on Oak Academy, we are moving on to problem solving across negative numbers, remainders (as decimals and fractions) and money.

Thursday’s Reading Task
Read through Chapter 11 of the book (below) and have a go at answering the questions underneath. If there is a word you are unsure of use a dictionary to check its meaning and don’t forget to answer in full sentences.

This week we will be using ‘OAK ACADEMY’ to look at ‘Persuasive Writing’.
Today’s task is looking at the features ‘rule of three’.
Watch the video and complete the independent activities on the slides.
Make a note of any of the language that you like – you might be able to use it when it comes to writing your own.

Thursday’s Topic Task
RE
In this lesson we will be learning about the Buddhist festival called Wesak. We will learn about why this festival is so special to Buddhists and the traditions that they observe. Finally, we will learn about the Noble Eightfold Path, which Buddhists reflect upon during Wesak. You will need a piece of paper, a pencil and your brain.
