Tuesday’s maths activity
Here are the answers to yesterday’s starters…

Here is today’s starter…

Main Activity
Today on Oak Academy, we are looking at multiplying decimals. You will have done this at school so this is really good revision to make sure you are ready to build on this concept in Year 6!
Have a look at the link below – look through the video and then have a go at the independent activities. Don’t forget to pause the video when asked to complete the questions in the video!

Here are some practice and challenge activities…
Tuesday’s Literacy Activity
This week we will be using ‘OAK ACADEMY’ to look at ‘Non chronological reports’.
Today’s task is looking at word meanings and fact retrieval.
Watch the video and complete the independent activities on the slides.
Make a note of any of the language that you like – you might be able to use it when it comes to writing your own.
DON’T FORGET to watch the video all the way to the end for your weekly spellings – your spelling test will be on Friday as part of Friday’s Oak Academy video.

Tuesday’s Reading Activity
This week you will be looking at non-fiction based on British wildlife. When you have read the text, answer the questions included.
Remember to use full sentences and answer the questions like the reader has not read them.
There are three levels of questions – we would expect most of you to aim for the 2 star level which starts on page 6.
(If you want a challenge read the 3 star version, if you you struggle, try the 1 star version.)

Tuesday’s Topic Task
Have a look at the next two videos of Earth School

Video one: Did you know that we drink the same water that dinosaurs used to drink? Water is essential to life, covers over 70% of the Earth and makes up about 60% of our bodies.

Video two: We have abundant sun, water and wind, which are all sources of renewable energy. Can 100% renewable energy power the world?
