Monday Reading Task: 

On a Monday, your reading task will be to complete the following D.I.A.L activity:

Wartime picture

Please answer the following questions about the picture: 

D (Deduction):- Who is the lady in white? What do you think she is doing?

I (Inference):-  How do you think the children are feeling? What makes you think this?

A (Authorial Intent):- Why do you think that the photographer has chosen to include the lady in his photograph? Why has he shown a group of children instead of just one.

L (Literal):- How many children are in the photograph?

Monday Writing Task: 

This week we will be using ‘OAK ACADEMY’ to look at ‘Character Descriptions’.

Today’s task is looking at examples of character descriptions and thinking about the language that has been used. Watch the video and complete the activities linked to it. 

Make a note of any of the language that you like – you might be able to use it when it comes to writing your own.
